Humble Beginnings

Peter and Michelle Swanek are passionate about music. Peter's Players has becomes a mecca for blues, rock, jazz, R&B and folk enthusiaists. "We take a lot of pride in offering a world-class yet distinctly Muskoka experience that is all about the music," says Michelle.

A promoter of over 300 concert/club dates since 2000, Peter’s Players has provided musical entertainment to over 20 venues. Peter’s Players presents every show with the music at the forefront, the way it should be.

“Growing up, music was always a big part of my life. Eventually I got married and had four kids, and now I’m refocusing on the music again,” he said. “People in the audience really seem to relate to it because these are the things they did when they were younger.”

Sometimes Peter Swanek goes to the bands, and sometimes the bands come to him. For seven years, Swanek promoted and hosted intimate jazz and blues concerts right in his own home in Innisfil. Now Swanek has a new home in Gravenhurst, and he’s brought the music with him.

Peter ran his own home theatre in Muskoka with contacts and connections to provide a very impressive lineup. He opened up Peter’s Place theatre in April 2008 with international music icons James Cotton, Johnny Winter, Robben Ford, Omar and the Howlers, John Mayall, Tab Benoit, Les Dudek and, well, you get the drift.

“We’re still going to be active in the community, and wherever we present shows, it’s always been our tagline, ‘Great shows always,’” Michelle said. “We really feel we’ll be able to recreate that Peter’s Players feel no matter where we put the show on.”

“Peter’s a music farmer” – Colin Linden

“Peter is such a soulful guy. He really has a strong belief in the music, and just wants to bring it to more people"
